Noor Ahmad was named the Player of the Match for picking up four wickets for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2025. He thanked MS Dhoni for helping him from behind the stumps. Noor was bought for INR 10 crore, and he justified his price tag by getting rid of Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Robin Minz, and Naman Dhir. Mumbai Indians batters were unable to read the spinners from the hand and paid the price in the form of their wickets.
“It is good to play in different T20 leagues across the globe, but it is special to play in the Indian Premier League. It is nice to get an opportunity to play for the Chennai Super Kings,” he said.
Noor shed light on his line and length. “My focus was to pitch the ball in the right areas and let the ball do its work. It is great to have Mahi bhai behind the stumps,” he added.
The Afghanistan spinner revealed his favorite scalp from the contest. “Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket was the best of the lot. It was a special stumping from Dhoni, who keep guiding me from behind,” he concluded.
Chasing 156 runs, the hosts completed the task in 19.1 overs with four wickets in hand. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra scored fifties in the winning cause at Chepauk.
