Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma haven't been among runs in the recent past, and the critics want the young players to take their place in the national side.

The reports of an alleged rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are hogging the limelight since the former was sacked from the ODI captaincy and replaced by the latter. It was claimed that Rohit and Virat are not interested in playing in each other’s captaincy.

The Test skipper was asked to react on the matter in a press conference before the South Africa tour, and the 33-year old slammed all those planting fake news. Kohli stated that he is tired of clarifying for the last two years as he shares a close bond with the new skipper and will always play under his leadership.

Chetan Sharma, the selection committee head, has stated that Virat and Rohit are fine, and there is no truth in such baseless reports.

“Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are absolutely fine. And we laugh at such stories, and we work as a family. Both are important for Indian cricket,” he said.
