Irfan Pathan feels the Mumbai Indians (MI) made a big mistake by not buying a player, who can bat at the No.7 spot in the Indian Premier League 2023.

The Mumbai-based franchise bought eight players, with Cameron Green coming for ₹17.5 crore. Irfan Pathan was not satisfied with the tactics of the five-time champions.

“Cameron Green is a good buy but what about the No.7 slot. They will be one player short in the Playing XI,” he said on Star Sports.

“Cameron Green can open the innings. Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are confirmed in the batting line-up. “Tilak Varma will come at No. 5 while Tim David will come at No. 6 but there is no clarity on the next batting slot. It seems they have missed a trick,” he added.
