Australian cricketer and Rajasthan Royals spinner, Adam Zampa, has praised veteran spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal for their adaptability and game-reading abilities.
While both Ashwin and Chahal have been delivering an impressive performance with the ball in the ongoing IPL 2023 season, Zampa admires their lack of mystery but the hard work they put into planning their moves.
Chahal is currently in contention for the IPL Purple Cap, having taken 21 wickets in 13 matches, with his best performance being 4/17. He also surpassed Dwayne Bravo’s record as the highest wicket-taker in the history of the T20 league with 187 scalps in 144 matches.
Meanwhile, Ashwin has claimed 14 wickets in 13 appearances for the franchise at a remarkable average of 7.51.
Despite a recent crushing defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals are still in the race for the playoffs, placed sixth on the IPL Points Table with 12 points in 13 matches and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.140.
However, they will need to win their final group match against Punjab Kings and rely on the results of other teams in the mix to secure their spot in the playoffs.
