Former England speedster Ryan Sidebottom has accepted the fact that IPL has helped England dominate in white-ball cricket. England are currently ruling the rankings in ODIs and T20Is. Earlier, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) was reluctant in sending its players for the best league in the world.
However, a lot has changed in the last few years with the English cricket board keen on most of the players plying their trade in the IPL.
Recently, even ECB managing director Ashley Giles admitted IPL’s role in helping the Eoin Morgan-led side become the best team in shorter formats.
In an exclusive interview with timesnownews.com, Ryan Sidebottom also highlighted how IPL has helped players from England.
“Yes, we all agree that the IPL has a massive influence to improvise England players’ style of play. Ever since our English players have been playing in IPL and the Big Bash League (BBL), they have certainly improved in their game. While playing in IPL, they are now able to play under pressure in front of big crowds,” he said.
