Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Shardul Thakur has joined the Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. After spending a season with LSG, the veteran is all set to represent MI, following a trade deal between the two franchises. The right-handed batter was added to the Lucknow squad as an injury replacement for INR 2 crore last season.
He played 10 matches in the 18th season after replacing Mohsin Khan, taking 13 wickets at an economy of 11.02. He has been traded to the five-time champions for INR 2 crore.
He has been a contributor for the franchises he has played in the cash-rich league and has won matches with the bat and ball.

In 105 IPL matches, he has taken 107 wickets and scored 325 runs. Shardul has been a part of the two title-winning campaigns with the Chennai Super Kings in 2018 and 2021. Earlier, Ravichandran Ashwin revealed that the deal had been finalised even before the official announcement. The off-spinner deleted the portion from his video after making a big claim.
Thakur has played for Punjab Kings, Rising Pune Supergiant, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in the past.
