Gujarat Titans IPL 2026 full squad with retained players and new auction buys

Overview:

Miller’s long-standing reputation for delivering impactful performances in the final overs continues to make him a highly valued T20 cricketer, particularly for sides that have struggled to finish games convincingly.

As momentum builds ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has highlighted the presence of several star players who could trigger competitive bidding wars as franchises seek to fill crucial spots in their squads. One of the standout names is South Africa’s experienced finisher David Miller, with Bangar suggesting that multiple teams will be keen to secure his services. Miller’s long-standing reputation for delivering impactful performances in the final overs continues to make him a highly valued T20 cricketer, particularly for sides that have struggled to finish games convincingly.

Emphasizing how valuable proven experience is in crunch moments, Bangar feels the left-handed batter could command one of the highest prices at the auction.

“David Miller is likely to be among the top three most expensive buys in this auction. Several teams are looking for a strong finisher. Gujarat Titans could really benefit from his experience, and Kolkata Knight Riders might also be keen, especially after Andre Russell’s retirement and with a healthy purse available,” Bangar said on JioHotstar.

Apart from Miller, Bangar highlighted England batter Jonny Bairstow as another name to watch, stressing that his all-round utility and consistent availability could raise his demand. Bairstow’s dual role as a top-order batter and wicketkeeper provides teams with greater tactical flexibility and added depth, making him a strong option for franchises looking to strengthen their squads.

“Jonny Bairstow brings added value with his ability to keep wickets and bat at the top of the order. He has an established track record, and with his current focus entirely on T20 cricket, his availability only strengthens his chances. Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders could show interest. Delhi are searching for a top-order replacement after releasing Jake Fraser-McGurk, while KKR may also consider him due to the lack of depth,” he added.
