Ahead of the IPL 16 mini-auction on December 23 in Kochi, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have submitted their retention list to the BCCI. The apex board had
MI and CSK had to take huge steps ahead of the forthcoming IPL season as MI registered their worst season in the history of IPL last year, and CSK were in the news for the Ravindra Jadeja saga.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians have released their all-rounding stalwart Kieron Pollard. The Caribbean player joined MI in 2010 and is one of the few overseas players to have played for a single team for this long in the IPL.
Besides Pollard, Fabian Allen, Tymal Mills, Mayank Markande, and Hrithik Shoukin are also believed to be released. Mumbai Indians are yet to officially announce these changes for the forthcoming season.
Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, have resolved things with Ravindra Jadeja and convinced him to stay with the franchise for another year. Thus, CSK have retained Jadeja.
CSK have released Chris Jordan, Adam Milne, Narayan Jagdeeshan and New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner.
