The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has activated its Plan B for IPL 2022.

Gary Kirsten discussed with the Lucknow franchise regarding the role of head coach, but the management went with Andy Flower. It has now been revealed that he is likely to coach the Ahmedabad franchise. In the past, he has worked with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

According to Cricbuzz, the former head coach of the Indian team and Ashish Nehra are in contention to be a part of the support staff of the Ahmedabad-based team.

Both of them were a part of the coaching staff of the Bangalore-based team. Besides, they were associated with the Men in Blue during the 2011 World Cup-winning campaign.

The report further stated that former England player Vikram Solanki might also join the franchise. Previously, the CVC-owned franchise was in talks with Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun and R Sridhar, who were a part of India’s coaching set-up.
