Shane Watson, who is associated with Delhi Capitals as an assistant coach, reacted to Umran's raw pace

The IPL 2022 will start with a clash between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26.

All the franchises have added new players to the squads, and some have even changed the coaching staff. While Ricky Ponting continues to be the head coach of Delhi Capitals, former Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson has joined the team as an assistant coach.

Shane Watson has been a key member of the Chennai Super Kings before retiring from the game in 2020.

During a pre-season media interaction, Watson said that he is looking forward to working with captain Rishabh Pant, further adding that he finds Prithvi Shaw “fascinating.”

“Looking forward to know Pant as a captain and player. I can help him in any way possible,” Watson said.

“Prithvi Shaw is fascinating. The talent this young guy has is spectacular. He has got incredible skill.”

Watson has reunited with Shardul Thakur, with whom he shared the dressing room during his time with the MS Dhoni-led team.

He feels the Capitals can win their maiden title this season as they have a strong squad.
