Virat Kohli's childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma has admitted that Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) don't look strong on papers.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to welcome two new franchises from the 15th season in 2022. There will be a mega auction before the main action. All the teams are allowed to retain the maximum of four players.

Deadline by which franchises have to submit the names of retained players

The franchises will have to submit the list by November 30.

Number of overseas and Indian players a franchise can retain

A maximum of 4 players can be retained by a franchise. Of these, a maximum of two can be overseas players.

How will the two new franchises will select players?

From the pool of players who will be released by 8 teams. The two new franchises will be allowed to pick three players each and the players picked will not be a part of mega auction in December.

Cost of retained players 

The prices of the players will be decided on the basis of number of players each franchise retains.

4 players: INR 42 crores (16cr, 12cr, 8cr and 6cr)

3 players: 33 crores (15cr, 11cr and 7cr)

2 players: 22 crores (14cr and 10cr)

1 player: 14 crores (14cr for if capped and 4cr if uncapped)
