Gujarat Titans have decided to replace Jason Roy with Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the hard-hitting Afghan opener.

England cricketer Jason Roy has pulled out of the Indian Premier League 2022 due to bio-bubble fatigue. Gujarat Titans bought the right-handed batter for INR 2 crore. The opening batter took to social media to issue a statement on his decision.

“Hi everyone, especially the Gujarat Titans fans and squad. With a heavy heart, I have decided to pull out of this year’s tournament. I want to thank the management and captain Hardik for putting your faith in me and picking me in the auction,” he said.

“However, with everything going on in the world over the last 3 years, it has added up and taken its toll on me. I feel it’s only right I spend some quality time with my family. As well as spending time working on myself and my game over the next couple of months leading into a very busy ye3ar,” he added.

“I will be following each game of the Titans and backing them to lift the trophy in their first year of the tournament. Thank you, everyone, for the continued support, and I hope you can all respect and appreciate my decision,” he concluded.

Jason played for Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2022 and scored 303 runs at a strike rate of 170.22 with one hundred and two fifties. In the cash-rich league, Jason has represented Gujarat Lions, Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
