In the ninth match of IPL 2021, David Warner’s men suffered yet another disappointing defeat as they succumbed to the pressure of run chase against the defending champions Mumbai Indians the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Chasing a below-par target of 151 runs, the Orange Army got off to a good start as Warner and his opening partner Jonny Bairstow stitched a partnership of 67 runs for the first-wicket stand.
However, after the departure of the openers, the team saw a quick fall of wickets yet again and SRH were bundled out for a paltry 137 on Saturday. As a result, they fell short by 13 runs against the five time champions.
After the conclusion of the game, Manjrekar took to his official Twitter handle and said that any team that plays Virat Singh, Abdul Samad, and Abhishek Sharma together in a playing XI “doesn’t deserve to win”.
“Sorry to say, but anyone that picks Abhishek Sharma, Virat Singh, and Abdul Samad all together in one playing XI does not deserve to win,” wrote the 55-year-old.
