The young India wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant will be leading Delhi Capitals in the 14th edition of IPL. The Delhi-based franchise named him the new captain of the team after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the upcoming tournament due to a shoulder injury.
The 23-year-old has a huge fanbase on social media.
The latest addition to Pant’s growing fan list is World No.1 Test bowler, Pat Cummins.
The Australian pacer, who has shared the dressing room with the young Indian cricketer in the cash-rich league for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), recently showered praise on Pant.
When Pat Cummins was asked to name a player he enjoys watching the most in world cricket, he quickly picked Rishabh Pant as his current favourite cricketer.
Talking to his fellow countryman, Joshua Lalor, in the ‘Morton Someday’ show, Cummins said, “As a fan, you always tend to enjoy someone who is playing a completely different game than everybody else. They are fearless, you look at them and feel geez wish I could do that as well.
“Rishabh Pant was brave. So, I think in three recent series it was him.”
“You’ve probably got 50 other players who probably wouldn’t have taken the game on like that. He’s always good to watch,” the 27-year-old added.
