Left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya fulfilled his dream of playing against his idol, MS Dhoni, when Rajasthan Royals locked horns with Chennai Super Kings on Monday.
After the conclusion of the game, the young speedster also got an opportunity to meet the former India skipper and he left in awe of the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman.
Sharing his admiration for the CSK skipper, Chetan took to his official Instagram handle and wrote, “I admire MS Dhoni since I was a child and today I got the opportunity to play with you, it was the best moment of my life and I will cherish it forever. There won’t be anyone like you ever. Thanks a lot for inspiring all of us throughout the career.”
Notably, the 22-year-old was the pick of the bowlers for the Rajasthan-based franchise as he picked up three crucial wickets in the form of Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, and MS Dhoni while conceding just 36 runs in his four-over spell.
However, his efforts went in vain as the Sanju Samson-led side failed to chase down a target of 189 runs at the Wankhede Stadium and eventually lost the game by 45 runs.
Despite a comfortable win over the Royals, Dhoni reckoned that the three-time champions should have scored more runs in the match.
“I felt we should have scored more and try to get as many as possible. A lot has changed over the years and right from the start we kept a very good atmosphere and a lot of the bowlers were under the pump last year but this time they are enjoying bowling on these wickets,” the 39-year-old said in a post-match presentation
