The player’s auction for the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held on February 18 in Chennai and all eight franchises teams would be looking to plug the gaping holes into the squad.

“ALERT: IPL 2021 Player Auction on 18th February Venue: Chennai How excited are you for this year’s Player Auction? Set your reminder folks,” IPL’s officials Twitter handle made the announcement on Wednesday.

The teams have traded a few players in the IPL 2021 transfer window and also revealed the list of players they have released and retained ahead of the Auction. The IPL Governing Council has given a February 4 deadline to players to register for the auction.

RCB released 10 players, the most out of the eight franchises. Meanwhile, SRH decided to retain a few big names, releasing just 5 players ahead of the IPL 2021 auction. KXIP also decided to end the contract for nine players.

Interestingly, KXIP will be going into the mini-auction with the largest purse of Rs 53.2 crore.
