The Indian men’s and women’s team landed in London on Thursday and then headed to the Ageas Bowl in Southampton to start their isolation. The Indian players are now looking forward to completing their hard quarantine and then start training.
The Indian men’s team will gear up for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against New Zealand while the women’s team will take on the English team in a one-off Test before playing 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.
While speaking in a video uploaded by the BCCI, left-arm spinner Axar Patel revealed that the team will serve a three-day hard quarantine before it is allowed to train at the Ageas Bowl ahead of the marquee clash against the Blackcaps.
“I had a good sleep…the plan is to quarantine. We have been told that we can’t meet each other for three days so we will be quarantining for that much time,” Axar Patel said in the video.
After the finale against New Zealand, India will take on England in a five-match Test series. Virat Kohli-led team was comprehensively beaten by the hosts when they played their last Test series in England. A lot will depend on the performance of the batsmen in the challenging English conditions.
