Match referee G.S. Lakshmi from the Emirates ICC International Panel confirmed the sanction after India were found two overs short, even after taking time allowances into account. According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, teams lose five percent of their match fee for every over they fail to complete in the allotted time.
As a result, India faced a 10 percent deduction from their match fee. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur accepted the sanction, meaning a formal hearing was not required. Australia secure the series win

India’s chase of 413 got off to a fiery start as Smriti Mandhana blitzed a 23-ball fifty and became the fastest Indian to score an ODI century, reaching the milestone in just 50 balls. She finished with 125 runs from 63 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur also contributed, but a cramp hampered her performance, giving Australia the chance to regain control.
