South Africa opener Aiden Markram scored a sensational hundred to keep his side in the hunt in a chase of 359 during the second ODI against India and level the series 1-1 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh international stadium in Raipur.
Markram, who led the Proteas in the first ODI in Ranchi, reached his ton off 88 balls. He was dismissed after posting 110 off 98 balls, laced with 10 boundaries and 4 sixes.

KL Rahul, who is leading India in the absence of regular captain Shubman Gill, played another superb knock, posting an unbeaten 66 runs off 43 balls, including 6 fours and 2 sixes. Ravindra Jadeja’s 24 came in 27 balls also proved handy in the end.
India won the first match by 17 runs to take a 1-0 lead. Virat’s 135 runs played a key role in the success of the team, with Rohit Sharma and Rahul also hitting fifties in Ranchi.
India are playing without Gill and vice-captain Shreyas Iyer, who are recovering from injuries. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, the two senior pacers, have been rested to manage their workload.
