India captain Ayush Mhatre has won the toss and elected to bat first against England in the final of the U19 Men’s World Cup 2026.
Toss Decision – Captain’s Comments & Reasoning
“We decided to bat first as the pitch looks good and hard. We aim to set a competitive target. It’s a good batting surface, and the batters have been playing well, which is encouraging for us. We’ll stick to our natural game, keep things simple, and avoid overcomplicating it. Same team,” Ayush Mhatre said.
England captain Thomas Rew wasn’t concerned about losing the toss.”We were looking to bowl first as it’s a good ground for chasing. It’s been a great session, and the players are all fresh and ready to go. There might be some assistance for the bowlers early on this morning. We’ve eased the pressure on the boys and encouraged them to simply go out and enjoy the game. We have made one change,” Thomas Rew said.
