When head coach Rahul was asked about the same, he said such a step could destroy domestic cricket in India.

After a thumping defeat in the semi-finals, the Men in Blue crashed out of the ICC T20 World Cup and will look to shift their attention to the upcoming tour and build a new team to compete in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

A source close to BCCI revealed, “The NCA team headed by Laxman with Hrishikesh Kanitkar (batting) and Sairaj Bahutule (bowling) will join the New Zealand-bound squad.”

Besides Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin have been rested. Shikhar Dhawan will return to lead the side in the ODIs, while Hardik Pandya will lead in the T20Is.
