Saba Karim said Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan should be groomed as the team needs players like them.

India have struggled in the shortest format of the game since the Asia Cup 2022. They failed to reach the tournament’s final and lost the first T20I against Australia in Mohali.

Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim said Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan should be groomed as the team needs players like them in the shortest format.

“Time has come to develop young cricketers because they can win games for India in the middle or lower-order. South Africa and Australia have David Miller and Tim David. Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia have skills but need to be far more consistent. But to do so, they should be given chances,” Karim told Sports 18.

Karim also backed Ravi Bishnoi and wants the national team to play him across formats.

“He can play all the three formats. Ravi has all the skills to be successful as a spinner. Young in age, he is confident enough to do well at the international level,” he added.
