India defeated Afghanistan by 7 wickets in the second semi-final of the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup and will now face England in the final. Chasing 311 runs, the Boys in Blue went on a rampage from the start and didn’t allow the Afghan bowlers to settle down and reached the target in 41.1 overs. Aaron George, who was struggling for runs, scored 115 runs off 104 balls, laced with 15 boundaries and 2 sixes.
He added 90 runs in 9.3 overs with Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who took 33 balls to post 68 runs, with the help of 9 fours and 4 sixes. When Vaibhav was dismissed, the rivals tried to put the brakes on the scoring rate, but it didn’t happen as captain Ayush Mhatre also returned to form, managing 62 runs off 59 deliveries, laced with 5 boundaries and 4 maximums. Ayush and George scripted a partnership of 114 runs for the second wicket.
Vihaan Malhotra, who has been one of the contributors for the Indian team, accumulated a 47-ball 38, packed with 3 boundaries.
