Overview:
Several Afghan cricketers, including Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi, have hit out at Pakistan for hitting civilian infrastructure, calling it a war crime.
Pakistan has killed 400 people and injured around 250 in Afghanistan, according to authorities. Pakistan’s airstrike hit a drug rehabilitation centre in Kabul, but Islamabad has denied reports of targeting civilians, saying the operation was conducted to destroy the militant infrastructure.
Afghanistan cricketer Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar has urged India to help his nation. The strike hit a 2000-bed complex, leading to a massive fire. The relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have deteriorated in recent times.
Ghazanfar, who will play for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, said that several vulnerable patients were targeted.
“The people have no money for treatment, and they have hit that place. This is not acceptable,” he told News18.
Pakistan said that it was an operation targeting militants. “I don’t know what they are trying to achieve. They are targeting innocent people, and we can’t accept it as a nation. Everyone is aware of our history, and if history repeats itself, it will not be good for Pakistan,” he added.
He called for the intervention of the international community, including India.
“India is our close friend, and we will have to engage them on these issues. These things shouldn’t happen in the future. This is our request to other nations as well. This is not good as the world is already going through several challenges,” he mentioned.
