A debate has been going on left-arm vs right-arm pacers since Mitchell Starc’s sensational performance against India in the ODI series. He took three wickets in the first game and added 5 scalps in the next. A section of some fans and cricket experts feel Indian batters have always failed against quality left-arm speedsters.
The Men in Blue don’t have any world-class left-arm seamers in the side, and Gautam Gambhir is the latest former player to opine on the matter.
He is against comparing Khaleel Ahmed, Mohsin Khan, and Arshdeep Singh to Shaheen Afridi, Trent Boult, and Mitchell Starc.
“India don’t have pacers like Shaheen Afridi, Trent Boult, and Mitchell Starc and it is not right to compare them to Khaleel Ahmed, Mohsin Khan, and Arshdeep Singh. The Indian pacers are new to the game. Also, quality matters. Be it a left-arm pacer or a right-arm,” he added.
