New Zealand inflicted a crushing eight-wicket defeat on India at the cricket T20 World Cup on Sunday and put the tournament favorite on the brink of elimination.

India have lost four early wickets and former England skipper Michael Vaughan has already predicted the outcome of the match. According to him, India are heading out of the global event.

“India could be on the way out of this #T20WorldCup .. the mindset & approach with all that talent so far has been so wrong,” he wrote.

Ishan Kishan was the first one to depart. He was dismissed by Trent Boult. KL Rahul paid the price of going for a big shot on Tim Southee’s bowling and was caught in the deep. Ish Sodhi got the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first. India opened with KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan, which surprised everyone. Rohit was demoted to one down in the second match of the global event.
