Former cricketer Manoj Tiwary has slammed Team India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate for his comment on Rohit Sharma. Ten Doeschate spoke about Rohit after he failed in the second ODI against New Zealand. He stated that the pitch at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium wasn’t suited to Rohit’s style and that he was short on cricket in the lead-up to three matches against the Kiwis. His remarks were viewed as critical of the Indian opener in one-day internationals.
“Ryan ten Doeschate was with me at the Kolkata Knight Riders for four years. He is a good person, but the comment he made, I think, he should have thought about it. He played international cricket for the Netherlands. If you look at his achievement, it is not even 5 percent of what Rohit has achieved in his career, not just as a batter but also as a leader,” Tiwary told PTI.

“Rohit has given so much to the nation and also led the team to success in the Champions Trophy. You are talking like this even when he is a part of the team and is not sitting at home. He is a part of the team management, and saying such stuff about a player is demoralising. I don’t know the reason behind his statement. He shouldn’t be making such comments,” Tiwary added.
Rohit has failed in the first two ODIs and will be looking to finish the series on a high when the two teams meet in the series decider in Indore on Sunday, January 18.
