Business tycoon Anand Mahindra has hailed England all-rounder Sam Curran for his grace and humility after he posted a tweet congratulation India for 2-1 triumph in the ODI series. Curran scored an unbeaten 95 runs but his effort went in vain as England were defeated by 7 runs after failing to chase the target of 330 runs.
Chasing 330 runs, England were 168/6 in the 26th over but Curran’s 95 kept the visitors in the hunt. His knock was laced with 9 fours and 3 sixes.
He tried his best in the final over but failed to win the game for his side and T Natarajan bowled beautifully in the last over. Curran took to social media and wrote – “Lots of lessons learnt, great series to be a part of. Congratulations to India.”
Anand Mahindra was impressed by the star all-rounder and reacted to Curran’s tweet. “If you’re looking for the definition of heroism, humility & grace…” the Mahindra Group’s chairman wrote in a tweet on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Curran equalled the world record for the highest individual knock by a No.8 batsman in ODIs. His teammate Chris Woakes had scored 95 runs in an ODI against Sri Lanka in 2016. Curran was named the Man of Match for scoring 95 runs and taking 1 wicket.
