Kohli left the captaincy after India's defeat in South Africa. The veteran had earlier stepped down as T20I captain, and then he was removed from the ODIs as well.

Team India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey defended Indian players after they were caught making controversial comments on stump mic. He denied that Indian team is suspecting host broadcaster SuperSport of fudging the DRS in the appeal against the Proteas skipper Dean Elgar.

He said that comments were not serious in nature and the players reacted in the heat of the moment.

“No, I don’t think so. See, every individual out here is trying his best, and sometimes in a moment like this people do say certain things… It’s a game. I think it’s fair if we just move on and let’s not take it further. It just happens. [When] everyone is trying their best, emotions do come into play sometimes but let’s sit back and think how we are going to go about tomorrow.”

Elgar was saved by DRS after he was given out by Marais Erasmus on the bowling of R Ashwin.
