Team India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin created history when he dismissed Tagenarine Chanderpaul in the first innings of the opening Test. He became the first Indian bowler to dismiss the father-son duo in the game’s longest format.

Ravichandran Ashwin had also taken the wicket of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who is the father of the West Indies current opening batter, Tagenarine.

Ashwin beautifully set up the southpaw. He failed to read the line and length of a ball that came in and was bowled.

Earlier, Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and elected to bat first against the visiting team. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan were given their debut caps.
