Virat Kohli is playing his 100th Test match in Mohali. The Indian team is taking on Sri Lanka in the opening Test of a two-match Test series.
Virat was presented his milestone cap by former Indian cricketer and the current head coach Rahul Dravid.
“I couldn’t have received it from a better person,” he said, “my childhood hero.” Virat is the 12th Indian player to achieve this record in the longest format of the game.
However, the 33-year old is not the only player who is playing 100th game. According to famous statistician Mohandas Menon, Hanuma Vihari and Dhananjaya de Silva are playing their 100th First-class match.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is leading India for the first time in red-ball cricket. He was named the Indian captain before the two-match series against Sri Lankan. Virat had resigned after team’s defeat in South Africa.
