Indian cricket team opener Shikhar Dhawan has been one of the most sorted players when it comes to white-ball cricket.

Veteran Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan is not bothered about Team India’s defeat in the first ODI against South Africa. The 36-year-old explained that India are preparing a team for the 2023 World Cup and are fine if results are not in favour. The left-handed batter scored 79 off 84. However, the Men in Blue failed to chase 297 runs and lost by 31 runs. The visitors went from 138 for 1 to 188 for 6 in their chase.

“Our thought process as a unit or as a team is that we are building a team for the 2023 World Cup. There will be a few hiccups here and there, which is fine. As a team, we analyze how we can get better. I feel that we all now have good clarity that we have got this bunch. We have to refine this.”
