Jasprit Bumrah, who is India's vice-captain for the South Africa ODI series, is ready to lead the team if given a chance.

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah picked up the 7th five-wicket haul of his Test career on day 2 of the third Test match at Newlands in Cape Town. His figures of 5/42 helped India dismiss the Proteas on 210 in the first innings. However, the pacer was not at his best in the second Test, which the hosts won by 7 wickets.

Many had slammed the bowler for leaking 70 runs in 17 overs in the second innings and going wicketless. But the 28-year doesn’t pay attention to critics.

“Nothing out of the ordinary, and I wasn’t giving extra attention. I was not too angry, and I was focussed on the present and did what I had to,” he said.

I don’t pay attention to outside noise as it doesn’t help. When I bowl, I have it in my control, and I try to bring in my perspective towards bowling, try to avoid what’s going outside,” he added.
