The start of the fourth T20 International between India and South Africa in Lucknow has been delayed after dense fog reduced visibility at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday evening. Match officials confirmed that the toss could not take place on time, with conditions forcing a delay. Umpires will inspect the playing conditions for the fourth time at 8:30 pm. The fifth inspection will happen at 9:00 pm.

Following a ground inspection at 6:50 pm IST, officials decided to postpone proceedings further, with the next update expected around 7:30 pm IST as visibility concerns persist. The situation remains under close monitoring as both teams await clarity on the possibility of play getting underway.

India enter the contest with a 2-1 advantage in the five-match series and are on the brink of sealing the assignment with another win. The home side has impressed with consistent bowling efforts and a well-rounded team performance, although questions remain over their batting consistency.

South Africa, on the other hand, find themselves under pressure, knowing defeat would hand the series to the hosts. While the visitors have shown fight in previous matches, they will need a united display across departments to slow India’s charge and push the series into a deciding game.
