India won the fifth ICC U19 World Cup title defeating England in the final at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. The Boys in Blue won the match by 4 wickets. Earlier, India had won the global title in 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2018. Chasing 190 for the glory, India lost Angkrish Raghuvanshi (0) on the third ball of the innings.
Harnoor Singh and Shaik Rasheed then added 49 runs for the second wicket. Harnoor was dismissed by Thomas Aspinwall, leaving India at 49/2. Skipper Yash Dhull and his deputy Rasheed stitched an important partnership of 46 runs which saw the later completing his second consecutive fifty.
James Sales removed Rasheed and Dhull with India tottering at 97/4, still needing 93 runs for the win.
Raj Bawa (35) and Nishant Sindhu (50*) then took India close and the Yash Dhull-led team managed to register a four-wicket win to lift the U19 World Cup.
Earlier, Bawa scalped five wickets while Ravi Kumar took four as India bowled out the rivals for 189. James Rew amassed 95 for the Three Lions.
