The International Cricket Council (ICC) has formed a committee to resolve the issue regarding the Asia Cup 2025 Trophy between the BCCI and Mohsin Naqvi. The Indian Cricket Board raised the matter in the meeting on Friday. With India and Naqvi sticking to their position on the matter, the apex body of international cricket decided that the Oman Cricket Board chairman, Pankaj Khimji, will lead the committee, Telecom Asia Sport said in its report.

PCB and ACC head Mohsin Naqvi refused to give the trophy to the winning Indian team after the Men in Blue declined to accept the silverware from the official. Naqvi, who attended the ICC meeting on Friday, clearly informed the ICC that he has the right to hand over the trophy as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final. Naqvi had told the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to collect the trophy from him in November, but the BCCI rejected the offer.

The ICC Board said that India and Pakistan are important members, and they should resolve their issues.

“The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere, and Australia, England, and South Africa tried to end the bitterness between the two parties. They also agreed to form a three-member committee,” sources told www.telecomasia.net.
