India’s T20 World Cup triumph was full of standout performances. From Sanju Samson to Jasprit Bumrah, Ishan Kishan to Abhishek Sharma, the Men in Blue dominated the proceedings. India’s clinical 96-run win over New Zealand in the final sealed the title, and four players were subsequently included in the ICC Team of the Tournament.

“Player of the Tournament Sanju Samson anchored India’s winning quartet after scoring 321 runs in just five innings. Initially outside the playing XI, Samson impressed with match-winning performances against the West Indies and England, before recording the highest individual score in a Men’s T20 World Cup final with 89 against New Zealand on Sunday,” the ICC stated.

“He is accompanied by teammates Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah, as India’s commanding win on home soil earns recognition.”

The ICC also named Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan among the top-order picks, after he finished as the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 383 runs at an average of 76.60, including two centuries against Sri Lanka and Namibia.

South Africa’s Aiden Markram earned a spot in the Team of the Tournament for amassing 286 runs with three fifties. Lungi Ngidi was included as well, finishing with 12 wickets at 15.58, highlighted by four wickets against Canada, three against Afghanistan and the West Indies, and an economical four-over spell versus India.

Will Jacks’ consistent all-round contributions earned him a spot in the middle order, as England reached the semifinals. Adil Rashid was another England player named in the ICC XI.
