Many fans want Virat to return as the skipper, but former RCB player Daniel Vettori feels the franchise will look at someone else for the leadership role.

After deciding to leave India’s T20 captaincy after the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli will be leaving the captaincy of RCB as well. Virat stated that he will step down from his post after the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.

“This will be my last IPL as captain of RCB. I’ll continue to be an RCB player till I play my last IPL game. I thank all the RCB fans for believing in me and supporting me.”: Virat Kohli

“This will be my last IPL as captain of RCB. I’ll continue to be an RCB player till I play my last IPL game. I thank all the RCB fans for believing in me and supporting me,” he added.

“I want to be able to be committed to the responsibilities that I am fulfiling and I felt I needed the space to be fresh, to regroup and be absolutely clear in how I want to move forward.

“It’s been a great journey of nine years, with moments of joy and frustration, happiness and sadness.”

Virat Kohli, who is the leading run scorer in the competition, has failed to lead RCB to maiden IPL title.
