Waqar Younis is facing massive backlash from Pakistan cricketers. Many players have blamed him for their ouster from the national team.
One of them is Ahmed Shehzad. He previously explained how Waqar wanted him out of the team, and the PCB supported him.
Shehzad last played for Pakistan in 2019. Since then, he has been ignored for selection. A couple of days back, he appeared on national TV, where he got into a heated argument with Shahid Afridi.
Shehzad claimed that PCB doesn’t want him to play for Pakistan
The right-handed batter refuted the news that he was indisciplined.
“I have heard a lot about myself. I was told to focus on cricket and ignore media. I wanted to make my country proud. I didn’t commit any indiscipline,” said Shehzad.
One of the newspapers had reported that Shehzad hit Waqar, and then he hit him back.
“Nothing is hidden about me. I have even seen headlines claiming I hit Waqar Younis and he hit me back. So, if I had ever disturbed the dressing room environment, people would know. I was a cheerful person and kept the team’s priority on top. If you have to make headlines, it’s up to you.”
He concluded by saying, ” As far as my discipline is concerned, I haven’t done anything against Pakistan. Every game I played; I gave my 100 percent. I don’t have regrets,” said Shehzad.”
