England’s most successful bowler, James Anderson, is hoping for a return to the team after missing the third and final test against New Zealand due to a painful left ankle.

England won that series 3-0 and is looking forward to playing India.

“I feel pretty good, fingers crossed I can get back in this week,” Anderson said. “I hate missing games for England, seeing the guys out on the field having a good time. The feeling around the group is so good you want to be around it as much as possible.”

India goes into the match after sweeping Ireland 2-0 in a Twenty20 series but was given a scare in the second match on Tuesday, winning by only four runs.
