Pakistan have been below par in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup and have lost to India and Zimbabwe.

Rishabh Pant scored a match-winning 125* in the series-deciding game, helping India claim the ODI series against England.

His first hundred in a 27-match ODI career also included 16 fours and two sixes, with five coming in a single over against David Willey.

He hammered the England pacer for 21 runs in the 42nd over, leaving India three runs short of victory.

The southpaw took a single after hitting five straight fours.

During the post-match discussion on Sony Sports, Sehwag was asked about Pant not finishing the game with a big shot.

“If Pant wanted he could have finished the game in that over. If I was there, I would have hit the ball for a four or six,” he said.

“The good thing is that Pant finished the game. He has played just 27 ODIs and looked at his confidence,” he added.

Sehwag lauded Pant for staying unbeaten and taking India to an emphatic win. Hardik Pandya, who made 71, also took 4 wickets.

“I didn’t expect to last till the end because of his back. However, Hardik made him realised the importance of staying on. Pandya released the pressure from him. Then he batted smartly.”
