Virat Kohli with RCB team
Kohli revealed getting insecure as a cricketer

Soon after ending his four-year-long century drought in Test cricket, Virat Kohli landed in Mumbai for the first game of the three-match ODI series against Australia, where he first met RCB’s women’s team, who were winless in the ongoing season and registered their first win yesterday against UP Warriorz.

During the pre-match chat, Kohli opened up on his IPL journey and talked about the dull phase in his career, where he became insecure as a cricketer and tried to protect his reputation to score big in every game.

Kohli first praised the RCB fans and stated that he has never won the IPL in 15 years but has the best fans in the world. The former India skipper then addressed his slump and remarked that he was under immense pressure to score in every game and played to protect his reputation, resulting in him getting insecure.

“I was under pressure and became insecure protecting my reputation of, ‘I am Virat Kohli, and I need to score in every game.’ Young cricketers came to me and said why are you not striking the ball, and I was like yes, they are right, why am I taking so much pressure.”

RCB took to Twitter to post the video of Kohli chatting with the women’s team. “Virat Kohli’s pep talk to the RCB Women’s Team King came. He spoke. He inspired. He’d be proudly watching the girls play the way they did last night. Watch @imVkohli’s pre-match chat in the team room on Bold Diaries.”

Following RCB’s first win of the season, skipper Smriti Mandhana thanked Kohli and stated that his advice helped the team.
