Imran Tahir is available for the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in Australia later this year. According to him, he is fit enough to represent South Africa in the global event. Tahir, currently playing for Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League, spoke about the league’s competitiveness and his team’s performance.

South Africa had left out Tahir of the 2021 T20 World Cup squad, picking Tabraiz Shamsi. The veteran has taken 68 wickets in 38 games at 15.04.

Speaking to Geo News, the 42-year old revealed his intention of playing in the global event Down Under.

“I am ready to play in the T20 World Cup and I believe the national selectors will consider my performance in different leagues across the globe. I am sure if they do, they will find me a deserving candidate,” he said.

“It is strange that I am an overseas player in Pakistan where I was born and even played cricket. I am also thankful to South Africa for giving me a chance to prove myself in international cricket,” he added.

Multan Sultans have started on a winning in PSL 2022 and Tahir believes that unity among the players is the main reason behind their success in the tournament.

“The success is because of unity. When you work hard, you will win matches.”
