Australia thumped India by 21 runs to lift the ODI series trophy. The margin of 2-1 came on the back of superb performances by the team’s leading players. On the other hand, it was a setback for the Men in Blue, who were favorites at home.
Australia were without regular captain Pat Cummins and pacer Josh Hazlewood but still came on top. Former India player Mohammad Kaif was particularly miffed with head coach Rahul Dravid for changing the batting order in the last game.
Kaif felt Suryakumar Yadav should have batted at the no.4 batting slot, and Dravid committed a blunder by changing the batting numbers of the players.
“It is easy to bat up the batting order, and a player like Suryakumar Yadav can’t bat at the No.7 spot. You can only find the form by batting in the top order and not coming down. Horrible decision and you don’t prepare for the World Cup like that. India have star players, but they must be handled properly. I am not happy with Rahul Dravid, and he has much to answer,” said Mohammad Kaif.
