The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Director of Cricket, Mike Hesson, has initiated a cheeky response after skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday announced that he” will also open the innings for RCB in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Following the announcement from their skipper and talisman, RCB posted a photo of Virat Kohli on their Instagram handle with the caption: “Guess who’s back at the top of the order.”

Having said that, Hesson hopes that the announcement will answer one of the “consistent questions” floating around the franchise. “Well, that will hopefully stop one of the consistent questions.”

While Devdutt Paddikal is likely to open the innings alongside Virat, having cemented his place in the team following a few highly consistent performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, AB de Villiers is likely to come in at no.3.

The franchise will have a different looking batting line-up as they now have experienced Australian stalwarts, Glenn Maxwell and Dan Christian, in the side along with a few Indian youngsters.

Furthermore, Washington Sundar and Kyle Jamieson can be pretty handy with the bat and could give the team consistent returns at the fag end of the innings. The bowing line-up, however, is expected to remain more or less the same from last season.
