Ricky Ponting was one of the best batters during his international career and played a vital role in Australia’s dominance in the ICC events.
The maestro is working as a coach and commentator after retirement. He is associated with Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League and has seen the rise of Rishabh Pant.
Ponting is in awe of Pant’s talent, and he lauded the wicket-keeper batter in his recent conversation with the ICC.
He feels the 24-year-old will be one of the players to watch out for in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in Australia later this year.
Punter stated that Rishabh could dominate bowlers on the tracks of Australia as his game is suited to the shortest format of the game.
“He is a wonderful cricketer who has the world at his feet. He’ll be exceptionally dangerous for India, especially on the wickets we’ll prepare in Australia (for the T20 World Cup) – good, fast, flat, bouncy wickets. So Pant will be one of the players to watch out for at the tournament.”
According to the legendary player, Pant will be used as a floater by the Indian management in the World Cup.
