Rohit Sharma has not travelled to England for a one-off Test. Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and other Test regulars have reached England. However, skipper Rohit Sharma was not seen with the lot.
There was speculation that he was injured and might miss the Test. However, the 35-year-old is fit and fine, according to Sports Today.
Rohit was on vacation with his family in the Maldives and has just returned to Mumbai.
He will leave for England with the second batch on June 20. Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and head coach Rahul Dravid will travel with him.
Rohit has been rested from the ongoing series against South Africa.
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya & Co. will leave for Ireland for the two-match T20I series. Bhuvnehwar Kumar has been appointed as his deputy. Sanju Samson and Rahul Tripathi are also part of the squad.
