Hardik Pandya was dropped from Team India after the ICC T20 World Cup. He has been told to report to NCA to work on his fitness issues.

Ravi Shastri has always backed talent in international cricket. The veteran was in favour of the young Indian players when he was a part of the team as a head coach. His tenure ended after the ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE.

Hardik Pandya made a name for himself during his term across formats, and Shastri witnessed his growth from the dressing room.

However, Hardik has lost his magical touch after back surgery. The all-rounder was dropped from the Indian team, and the Mumbai Indians decided against retaining him for IPL 2022.

The 28-year player is currently working on his fitness, and is expected to join the National Cricket Academy after completing his rehab in Mumbai.

During his conversation with The Indian Express, Shastri spoke about Hardik and how he can be a real asset.

“If Hardik Pandya can take a break for a bit, work on his fitness, get stronger, he will be a real asset. He can easily give you the four overs in T20 cricket.”
