Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt has stated that Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah has led from the front on his captaincy debut in the Birmingham Test against England.
He compared the Indian player to Jonty Rhodes after the latter took a stunning catch to dismiss Ben Stokes.
Reflecting on Bumrah’s captaincy, Butt said that Bumrah would take away fond memories from the game.
“Bumrah is having wonderful experiences on captaincy debut. He batted well and also took three wickets.”
Butt also talked about Bumrah’s fielding effort.
“He took a flying catch like Jonty Rhodes to get rid of Ben Stokes. It was an important grab considering Ben Stokes’ record as a batter. He will be keen to win the match.”
