Virat Kohli is known for his animated celebration style. The India skipper has often crossed the limit leading to criticism from former players and fans. Even during the finale of the World Test Championship (WTC), the 32-year old’s shush finger celebration caught everyone’s attention.
Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Deep Dasgupta feels Kohli needs to check his style as he goes overboard in celebrations and there are kids following him across the globe.
“You talked about him being there as a captain. Yes, he’s the ambassador of the country, especially when you are playing outside India… As I said, I wasn’t in Southampton so I don’t know how he behaved… I agree (he needs to choose his words and gestures in the right way), some of the things, I know he gets carried away. As you said, there are kids who are watching him, he’s a role model for millions of kids and I agree with that.”
Kohli once showed the middle finger to the ruthless Aussie fans in 2011/12. However, he has changed in the last few years after his marriage.
He is in England, where his team will take on the hosts in five Test matches from August-September
